Abstract Programming (for abstracts submitted prior to November 8)

To view your programming information go to the Early Abstract Submission site with the first authors last name and submission ID (or username and password).  Once you have entered the site, click on the link that says Email History-View Your Scheduling Confirmations. NOTE: You will not be able to make any changes to your abstract at this time. Follow the same instructions for Late Breaking Abstract Programming.

Q. What societies are meeting with EB 2007?

A. The American Association of Anatomists (AAA); The American Physiological Society (APS): American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB); American Society for Investigative Pathology (ASIP): American Society for Nutrition (ASN); American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (ASPET);
 

Q. Where will Experimental Biology 2007 be held and what is the address?
A. The meeting will be held in the Washington Convention Center, 801 Mount Vernon Place, Washington, DC 20001
 

Q. Are there any societies not meeting with EB 2007?

A. Yes. The American Association of Immunologists (AAI) will meet separately. The AAI meeting will be held in Miami, FL, May 18-22, 2007. For further details, please visit the AAI Website at www.aai.org
 

Q. Whom do I contact for an invitation letter to attend Experimental Biology 2007?
A. You must be registered for the Experimental Biology 2007 conference to receive an invitation letter. Please email your request to: leftwich@faseb.org. Include your complete name and mailing address.
 

Q. Do I have to be a member to attend?
A. No, but the registration fees are reduced for members.
 

Q. How can I become a member of one of the sponsoring societies and receive discounted registration rates and other member benefits?
A. You must apply for membership with one or more of the sponsoring or Guest societies. Please contact the society office directly as each society handles membership differently.
 

Q. How many CME credits is it possible to earn by attending Experimental Biology 2007 and how do I claim them?
A. You may earn CME credits at this year’s annual meeting for selected sessions. Please read the printed program for further information regarding CME sessions. Poster sessions are not eligible for CME credits. You may obtain a CME form on-site in the Meeting Management Office located in the Washington Convention Center or on the EB website after the meeting.
 

Q. Where will the poster sessions be held?
A. The poster sessions will be held in Exhibit Halls A-C of the Washington Convention Center. Authors can place posters on the poster board at 7:00 AM on the day of the presentation. Posters must be removed at 6:00 PM when posters close on the same day of the presentation. Posters will be removed from the board and discarded if authors do not remove their posters by 6:00 PM on the day of presentation. Late breaking posters will be located in Hall C on Wednesday, May 2.
 

Q. How soon can I get into the Exhibit Hall to set-up my poster? When must I remove my poster?
A. Authors can place posters on the poster board at 7:00 AM on the day of the presentation. Posters must be removed at 6:00 PM when posters close on the same day of the presentation. Posters will be removed from the board and discarded if authors do not remove their posters by 6:00 PM on the day of presentation.
 

Q. If I bring my children, are they permitted to attend educational and social events with me as well as visit the exhibits?
A. Children must be accompanied by a parent or a guardian during exhibit hours. Parents or guardians may bring children under the age of 17 to educational and social events provided the children do not disrupt the event. Under no circumstances are children under the age of 17 allowed in the exhibit hall during set up and dismantle times.
 

Q. Whom should I contact to rent a meeting room or conduct a satellite/ancillary event during Experimental Biology 2007?
A. You may submit your request via our online application (by the November 10) deadline at https://secure.faseb.org/EB/Meetings/2007/spFunction.htm  or send an email to eb@faseb.org.
 

Q. Does the Meeting provide a service where I can advertise a scientific meeting?
A. Yes. Please submit your request to display materials on our literature table in the registration area to eb@faseb.org. For ancillary/satellite event listings in the Program, please contact Pauline@faseb.org.
 

Q. Will transportation be provided between hotels and the Washington Convention Center? Is there a fee?
A. There will not be shuttle buses to and from the Convention Center. All hotels are within a 15 minute walking distance to the center. Public transportation is available. Please click on the transportation link for further information.
 

Q. Is there parking available at the Washington Convention Center?
A. There are many public parking facilities nearby. These spaces are available on a first come, first served basis. You can visit http://www.dcconvention.com/directions/parking.asp for further information and costs.
 

Q. What is the expected meeting attendance?
A. 12,000, including exhibitors
 

Q. Does the Washington Convention Center offer assistance for visitors with disabilities and special needs and whom do I contact?
A. If you have a disability that will have an impact on your participation in the annual meeting, please contact us via e-mail at eb@faseb.org or by telephone at (301) 634-7010. Experimental Biology cannot ensure the availability of appropriate accommodations without prior notification.
 

Q. Is there a message center telephone number I can give my family/office in case of an emergency?
A. Experimental Biology message centers located in the convention center will be open from Friday, April 27, at 1:00 PM through Wednesday, May 2, at Noon. The telephone number for the message center is 202-249-4161.
 

Q. How can I find out if a colleague is attending the meeting and get a message to him or her?
A. There will be a message center located in the registration area where messages can be left for attendees. Registrants with an official badge may also check at the Registration Help Counter or Information Counter to see if a colleague has registered for the meeting.
 

Q. Will there be a luggage check available in the convention center?
A. Yes. This will be located in East Registration.
 

Q. Is there a business center available for making copies, sending faxes, etc.?
A. Yes, there is a business center in the convention center and in most hotels. The Business Center in the Convention Center is located in the East Registration Wing on the Street Level (Level 1). For further information about the Business Center services, please call 202-249-3969.
 

Q. Will the Society provide an airport shuttle?
A. Experimental Biology will not be providing transportation services to and from the airport. There are shuttle services that provide transportation to and from the airports. Please click on the transportation link for further information.
 

Q. When is the abstract submission deadline?
A. Wednesday, November 8, 2006.

Q. Will there be late breaking abstracts?
A. Yes. All late breaking submissions will be presented in poster sessions on Wednesday, May 2.
 

Q. Are there places to eat near the convention center/inside the center?
A. Yes. There concession stands will be open inside the Exhibit Hall Sunday-Tuesday. There will also be food stands in various locations throughout the convention center and two food courts will be open. Further information will be posted in March.

Q. When are the exhibits open?
A. Sunday, April 29–Monday, April 30 from 9:00AM–4:00PM and Tuesday, May 1, 9:00AM–3:30PM.
 

Q. Is there an exhibit hall-only registration fee?
A. No. In order to visit the exhibit hall, you must register for the entire meeting.
 

Q. Are children allowed in the exhibit hall?
A. Children must be accompanied by a parent or a guardian during exhibit hours. Under no circumstances are children under the age of 17 allowed in the exhibit hall during set up and dismantle times.



HOUSING & TRAVEL
 

Q. What are the co-headquarter hotels and their addresses?
A. The Renaissance Hotel, 999 9TH Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001will serve as Headquarter Hotel for AAA, ASIP, APS, and ASN; The Grand Hyatt Washington, 1000 H Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001 will serve as Headquarter Hotel for ASBMB and ASPET.
 

Q. When can we begin to reserve hotel rooms?
A. Registration for housing will open in mid-September. If you have not made your reservations, please visit our website at www.eb2007.org and click onto Hotel Reservations. The housing deadline is March 26, 2007. We urge you to make your hotel reservation early to ensure the rate and hotel of your choice. Please email eb@faseb.org if you have any questions or housing problems.
 

Q. How do I make changes to my hotel reservation?
A. Prior to March 26, 2007 all changes and cancellations should be made directly with the housing bureau. Beginning March 30, 2007 changes and cancellations should be made directly with the hotel. No changes can be made between March 26 and March 30.
 

Q. Will I receive a confirmation from the hotel?
A. Once you have reserved a hotel room, the housing bureau will send you a hotel confirmation. You will not receive a separate confirmation from your assigned hotel.
 

Q. Which hotels will have complimentary shuttle service to the convention center?
A. Shuttle bus service to and from the Convention Center will not be provided.
 

Q. What is the hotel cancellation policy?
A. Deposits are fully refundable for any cancellations through March 26, 2007. After March 26, 2007 an $18.00 processing fee will be held. Deposits are nonrefundable for any cancels made within 72 hours of arrival.
 

Q. Does the Meeting have a roommate referral service?
A. A list of participates requesting roommates will be provided once you complete the online room sharing form.



REGISTRATION


Q. How do I register for the meeting?
A. Registration can be submitted on-line, by fax, phone or mail. The early registration deadline is March 2. After that date the fees will increase slightly and registration will only be accepted on-site after this date. Avoid standing in line and register online.
 

Q. What does my registration fee include?
A. Your registration fee includes access to all Experimental Biology sponsored sessions, lectures, exhibits, symposia, poster and slide presentations, a briefcase, the Program, and the Abstract books or CD/Itinerary Planner.
 

Q. Do I have to pay registration fees if I submitted an abstract?
A. Yes, submission of the abstract handling fee does not include the registration fees.
 

Q. Can someone else register another person?
A. Yes, as long as they can provide all of the necessary information and payment.
 

Q. Can I pay by credit card?
A. Yes, you may pay registration fees by credit card. The credit cards that we accept are MasterCard, Visa, and American Express.
 

Q. Will I receive my badge prior to traveling to Experimental Biology?
A. Domestic attendees will receive badges prior to the meeting if they registered before March 2.
 

Q. I have pre-registered but have not received my badge. Who should I contact?
A. Please email Josie Leftwich at Leftwich@faseb.org
 

Q. I have lost my badge? What do I do?
A. You will be able to receive a replacement badge on-site at the Replacement Badge Counter.
 

Q. Where do I go for badge corrections?
A. Replacement Badge Counter on-site during registration hours.
 

Q. I have a question about my registration. Who should I contact?

Q. I’ve registered for Experimental Biology but unexpectedly cannot attend. May I send someone else in my place? If so, how would I go about making this substitution?
A. Please contact Josie Leftwich, by e-mail at Leftwich@faseb.org.
 

Q. What is the cancellation/refund policy?
A. A registration cancellation fee of $35 will be deducted for all refund requests. The deadline for canceling and receiving a refund less processing fee is Friday, April 6, 2007. Requests must meet the following criteria to be processed: Registrant’s original badge packet must be returned for cancellation to be processed. Written requests must be accompanied by the registrant’s badge packet. If the cancellation was made by e-mail, the badge and receipt must be received by Friday, April 6, 2007. E-mailed cancellations will not be processed until the registrant’s original badge packet is received.


After Friday, April 6, there will be no refunds for cancellations of any type, including no-shows. Refunds will not be issued for incorrect category of registration. If you are not sure if you are a member or student member, please contact the membership department of your society. Email cancellation requests to leftwich@faseb.org.
